Hofstra's Jake Slotnick works for a takedown on Columbia's Cesar Alvan. Slotnick won this 165 pound bout 8-6 and earned his 8th victory on the season in front of a large hometown crowd on Alumni Night.

Patchogue-Medford's Aiden Jacobellis picked up a 10-4 decision over EI's Jacob Kiernan at 110 pounds.

Ayden LaBella (104 career wins) of Sayville secured a key 6-0 win over Joe Gorman from West Islip at 126 pounds.

Eliezer Sanchez of Central Islip works for a takedown. The second ranked Sanchez picked up the fall over Bryant Fields of Bay Shore at 138 pounds.

Luke Unverzagt of Sachem North lift's Karim Rafiq of John Glenn. Unverzagt picked up the pin at 165 pounds.

Sachem North's Logan Spinella secured the fall over Glenn's Jack Divers at 190 pounds.

Sachem North's Corey Bardua scored a 12-0 major decison at 110 pounds.

Ty Strychalsky of East Islip controls Logan Sedani of Sachem North to win this 118 pound bout 6-1.

Sachem North's Nicholas Delardi won this 132 pound battle over EI's Rayan Shehu 6-5.

East Islip's number one ranked Rocco DeStefano (36-3. 166-32 career) bumped up to 138 pounds and secured the fall.

Jack Cusumano (31-3) of Sachem North is in control at 144 pounds. Cusumano picked up the technical fall 19-3.

Sachem North's Joshua Thomas edged East Islip's Noah Hodge 4-2 in a pivotal bout at 150 pounds.

Defending NYS champion Jon Tutku (30-2, 83-3 career) a freshman from Massapequa works his half en route to a 15-0 technical fall at 110 pounds in the semifinals of the Nassau Qualifying Tournament held at MacArthur HS.

MacArthur's Vincent Orendello (23-3) tries to secure a takedown. Orendella won this 118 pound semifinal by fall.

Rich King (35-4, 129-25 career) from Clarke works for near fall points. King won this 126 pound semi with a 15-0 tech fall.

Clarke's Will Grassini (34-5, 149-37 career) works for a takedown at 132 pounds. Grassini ranked #2 in Nassau County picked up the fall to advance to the finals.

Massapequa's Jake Nieto (31-1, 110-32 career) secures the fall. Nieto, ranked #1 in Nassau advanced to the Nassau Qualifier Final at 138 pounds.

Number one ranked Kai Tiringer of Massapequa is on the attack at 150 pounds. Tiringer (34-4) won this semifinal with a 16-2 technical fall.

Thomas Vecchio (42-0) from Sachem North is in on his double leg. Vecchio, the number one ranked seed and top ranked 175-pounder on LI, picked up the fall in this quarterfinal bout. Vecchio went on to win the crown with a major decision in the finals helping the Arrows outscore Sayville for the team title.

Javen Taff (33-3) leads Sayville to a second place in the team scoring at the Suffolk County Championships at Stony Brook University. Taff, a junior, won this early round match over Arjahn William of Bellport with a 16-1 tech fall and was runner-up at 215 pounds. Go to HIGH SCHOOL NEWS for more.

Camryn Howard (46-0) of Bellport is on the attack at 157 pounds. Howard, a sophomore, is the number one ranked wrestler in NYS and the nation, secured the tech fall with a 21-6 win. Howard, voted the MOW Award, had another tech fall in the finals and paced the Clippers to a third place team finish. It was S

East Islip's Rocco DeStefano (42-3) works this takedown to an overhead cradle and a first period fall at 132 pounds. For DeStefano it was his 100th career pin and now has a stellar 172-32 overall ledger. He went on to capture the 132 Suffolk crown as East Islip finished fourth in the team scoring.

Hunter Phillips, the #2 seed of Ward Melville, works for a first period fall in this 103-pound quarterfinal. He dropped a decision to Benjamin Marino (Bay Shore) in the semifinals as Ward Melville finished in the top five.

William Floyd's Josiah Lors (38-3) is in deep on a single leg. Lors won this 215 pound quarterfinal bout with a 7-3 victory over Longwood's Dylan Kent. Lors won the Suffolk crown over Sayville's Javen Taff 4-2.

Joseph Brooks (30-4) of Massapequa avenged a late season loss to Clarke's Sebastian Mejia. Brooks held Mejia scoreless in this 157 pound semifinal with a 14-0 win. Manhasset's Will Russell (21-5, 166-24)works for his takedown on MacArthur's Vincent Orandello. The top seeded Russell won this 118 pound semifinal to help Manhasset hold on to second place in the team scoring. Russell finished as runner-up and will be a solid contender at the state meet.

Farmingdale's Josh Kama (23-2) upset second seeded Marcus Rosario of Clarke in this 190 pound semifinal. Kama secured the win with a 15-0 technical fall but dropped a decision in the final as Farmingdale finished third in the team scoring.

Defending New York State champion Dunia Sibomana (36-3, 193-17 career) of Long Beach (fourth in team scoring) won his 118 pound semifinal match over Roslyn's Christian Morris with a 12-2 major decision. Sibomana, an UNC commit, edged tough Will Russell, 1-0, in the finals and became a rare five-time Nassau County champion.

Peter Mikedis (41-2, 142-24 career) from Bellmore JFK secures his fall to and went on to win the 165 pound final. BJFK finished in fifth place in the team scoring.

Chase Morris, the top-seed from Oceanside works for a takedown in the 144 pound semifinal. Morris won 22-5 and his win in the final helped his team retain sixth place in the team standings.
